Me first!
I ran GT1, GT2 and Rally. neutral, total tragedy and totally awesome, respectively.
Concourse was something else... read on..
GT1: My car was running "okay". I was running for the hell of it. My car was actually pretty good except for in the rain on the chicane at the end of the sweeper, in the rest of the track it was pretty good in both wet and dry. Only ran 2 heats cause I had to take the receiver out and put it into my tragic GT2 car (read on). Not even close to podium but I could be well in the A group.
GT2: TOTAL DISASTER! Bad tire choice in round 1. After the round, when the car was sitting in the pits, speed controller (waterproof QC2) went up in smoke and killed my spektrum pro receiver at the same time. I put in a spare speed controller and had to take the receiver out of the GT1 car. Round 2, a loose wire between spare esc and swapped receiver made the car on/off at it's own will. DNF. Round 3 got restarted 2 times! Thats a total of 3 starts and I got in worse and worse position each time! I was gridded 6th? Start 1, I was 3rd out of the pack and CLEAN, I had high hopes. People in the back was HACKED up so it was restarted. Start 2, I came out 5th and clean but the rest of the pack was hacked up and we restarted. Start 3, I was victim of the hacking mess but the race continued, my concentration was broken and the hacking was worse than ever. I started in my usual LAST place and had to play catch up! That doesn't work in the finals! Round 4, I just gave up. No shot at even podium and I didn't want to affect the outcome of the few who are in contention for the win. This year's GT2 was really bad for hacking. I must say it's the worse I have seen in any TCS race. Even the lead cars were getting hacked all over the track.
My consolation prize was rally (even though the prize doesn't make up for the rx and esc that died in GT2) It was good to see the guys from NRCC and guys from Kingston come out! Great bunch of guys from both tracks! I won 3 rounds in a row and they dropped the last one (no point in running cause of time constraints). During practice I was actually worried because I noticed there are several better handling and faster rally cars out there on the track. I haven't run much rally and it was a very basic car setup I had(stock TT-01, bearings and trf shocks). In the first 2 rounds, there were 2 heats. Round 3 was everybody together (13 or 14 cars?). I was AFRAID at first for that many cars and you all know rally cars don't handle all that well. But I was very relieved to find how courteous the rally guys were! EVERYONE gave me the right of way when I was coming up to pass. And when cars got tangled up, racers apologized to each other on the driver's stand! These guys were more relaxed and was out to have a good time! It was interesting when people let me pass at certain places like 1 corner before a chicane, they were right up to almost pass me in the actual chicane and they say "I didn't expect you to be this slow in the chicane". What made a difference was consistent driving I guess. And weaving through traffic seemed like a game of chess rather than a demolition derby (GT2). I would really like to see this class grow! It's a LOT of fun and the racers raced with a MUCH more positive attitude! (that, and because I am now the 2009 TCS Canadian Rally Champion)
There was no time for a real concourse this year. At the trophy presentation, they announced Chris Butao winner of the concourse cause they noticed the body he was running (which stood out from the rest). Guess who painted that one??? And it was the SAME paint scheme I used to win last year's concourse! I wonder what are the chances of me winning a 3rd time with the same paint scheme? He got to keep the trophy but that's okay. I already got one. I'm proud to have him run my paint job anyways. You tell them Chris, you tell the world!
Special thanks to:
Pit crew: Steve and Philip!
Rally Car sponsor Ralphy (wish you could be there dude!)
My Filipino brother's from MRCC for the support!
And of course lets not forget about Tamiya, the world's largest manufacturer of the finest model kits and accessories available; proudly distributed by Borgfeldt Canada! (yeah, I had to put that in, like in the old days when I did the driver's meeting, don't get to do that anymore)

Congrats!
Wish I was there to support you guys. I'm glad you won the Rally class Dave....way to keep the title in our club.....so proud of the Yellow Subaru(my backup Rally car). You would have dominated with my TT-01 RDE rally car, but you still kicked ass.
Congrats to Chris and JP who did really well in GT2!
Well done boys! Keep the MRCC spirit alive.
